Top 60: Favorite Films of the 2000s

Definitely the decade that I was the most dedicated to watching a lot of films in. It was a struggle to narrow this down to "just" 60 films.

60. Apocalypto (2006)

59. Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)
Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit

54. The Bourne Identity (2002)
The Bourne Identity
Despite what some other people might tell you, this is the best film of the Bourne series.

53. Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001/2002/2003)
Lord of the Rings Trilogy

52. Traffic (2000)

51. Munich (2005)

50. Grindhouse (2007)
Maybe the best time I had at the theatre this decade... too bad not a lot of other people checked it out there.

49. Wall E (2008)

47. Before Sunset (2004)

46. The Way of the Gun (2000)
The Way of the Gun
Probably one of the most controversial movies that made my list. I love it though. Benicio is great, Phillipe is the best he's ever been, it has one of the best cutdowns I've ever heard (What Benicio says to Sarah Silverman at the beginning of the film), and the shootout at the end is amazingly well shot and executed.

45. The Brothers Bloom (2008)

44. High Fidelity (2000)

43. Avatar (2009)

42. Memento (2000)

36. Chopper (2000)
It's been all downhill for Bana since this film. Maybe not financially, but artistically yes.

All the Real Girls
Growing up in a small town, I could relate to this film more than most. My favourite romantic type film ever, even though ultimately it doesn't have a very positive ending.

6. Adaptation (2002)

5. Children of Men (2006)
Children of Men

4. No Country For Old Men (2007)

The Viggo, Cronenberg combo can't be beat... except by the 2 films below.

2. The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)

Tarantino and Wes Anderson have dominated the top spots on my last 2 best of decade lists. This movie only gets better on repeat viewings.

1. Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2 (2003/2004)
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & 2
The only time I've ever watched a film 4x in the theatre (Vol. 1 only). This set of films contains everything that gets me pumped about film - swordfighting, badass ladies, a training montage, and an amazing tale of well deserved revenge.
