Top 60: Favorite Films of the 1990s
Films of the 1990s

From top to bottom, this might be the strongest decade of films for me. The top 10 of the 80's might be a stronger group of films, but as a whole the 90s can't be beat. Just about every film on this list I would rank as a 9 or above. Lots of quality here.

60. Mallrats (1995)
Mallrats
Probably my 2nd most watched film as a teen, it's what really got me into Kevin Smith movies and his style of comedy.

59. Welcome to the Dollhouse (1995)

58. The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996)
The Long Kiss Goodnight
I'm a big fan of Renny Harlin films, but usually it's because they're so over the top and ridiculous. Here he gets to work with a great script from Shane Black and the result is his most solid all around film by far.

57. Ed Wood (1994)

53. Dead Alive aka Braindead (1992)
Dead Alive
Pre-Lord of the Rings this was Peter Jackson's high point of his career - A pretty crazy awesome splatter horror film.

52. Being John Malkovich (1999)
Being John Malkovich
Probably lower than most film lover's would recommend, but for me it's a movie that doesn't supply a lot of re-watch value.

41. The Limey (1991)
The Limey
Made back in Soderbergh's prime. He was knocking out classics with ease, nowadays it seems like he's more interested in quantity over quality.

I think this is the only documentary on any of my best of the decades lists. I think it's because Mark Borchardt and Mike Schank are better, more interesting, and funnier characters than any screenwriter could invent.

15. Out of Sight (1998)
Out of Sight

14. Wild at Heart (1990)

2. Pulp Fiction (1994)
Pulp Fiction
I'd guess this would be most film geeks movie of the decade, and it's tough to argue with, I love it. It's just the next film on the list has a spot slightly closer to my movie heart.

1. Rushmore (1998)
Rushmore
My favourite Wes Anderson Flick. It gets funnier evey time I watch it.
