Top 30 - Most Anticipated Films of 2017

A lot of these I'll just name the director, generally that's the best indicator of the quality of an upcoming film.

30. Wind River - Writer of Sicario and Hell or High Water, both solid, now stepping into the director's chair.

29. Logan Lucky - Soderbergh coming back from his short-lived retirement.

28. Logan - Rated R Wolverine, director does not inspire confidence though (Mangold).

27. It - My favorite King novel, hopefully an improvement on the OG adaptation.

26. Kong: Skull Island - Kong usually provides fun times, director is a bit of an unknown though.

25. Thor: Ragnarok - Early Thor movies were pretty average, hopefully having Hulk in the mix will spice things up.

24. World War Z 2 - If David Fincher is in charge as rumored, I'm all in.

23. Okja - Joon-ho Bong

22. The Lost Ciry of Z - Read dome extra positive early word.

21. Ghost in the Shell - I like the production design as seen in trailer.

20. Mother - Darren Aranofsky

19. The Dark Tower - Solid books, could be tough to adapt though.

18. Kingsman: The Golden Circle - Mathew Vaughn.

17. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets - Luc Beson back in his sweet spot.

16. War of the Planet of the Apes - Series has been solid thus far.

15. Justice League - I like Batman v Superman more than most, still a little skeptical of any Zach Snyder movie though.

14. Under the Silver Lake - "It Follows" director's new movie

13. Get out - Jordan Peele, the more talented of the Key and Peele team.

12. John Wick: Chapter 2 - The first was an action classic.

11. T2 Trainspotting 2 - The whole crew is back for round 2.

10. Spider-man: Homecoming - Marvel formula has been pretty reliable.

9. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - Same as above

8. Wonder Woman - Trailer got me fired up, solid casting.

7. Annihilation - Alex Garland

6. Coco - Pixar is finally coming back with some original material.

5. Blade Runner 2049 - Denis Villeneuve

4. Alien: Covenant - Ridley Scott taking is taking it back to his roots.

3. Baby Driver - Edgar Wright

2. Dunkirk - Chris Nolan

1. Star Wars: Episode VIII - Rian Johnson rolling with SW, that's a tough combo to beat.
